ROMANCE ON THE ROCK
They met on a rugged and challenging hike trail, and only four weeks into barely getting to know him, he invites her to an isolated lookout point, the panoramic Chalky Mount. He knows how she is enthralled with nature, the outdoors, and beautiful scenery, an excellent setting to interact, and engage in amorous conversation.
It’s a cool, breezy afternoon out on the Mount, with clear scenes of Barbados’ rugged green spaces and the wind swept east coast.
Only the natural environment surrounds, no invasion of man made noises, or structures, he has chosen a truly therapeutic and romantic setting.
They have parked, and are now walking on the Mount’s rocky up hill trail, as he shows off the environment, the unique flora, and she’s duly impressed and excited. Sitting now on a grassy slope, with the blue expanse of the Atlantic Ocean in the distance, he shares about his background, his emotions are evident, and she too reveals, comfortably so, herself.
A closer bond has been established, he feels more positive about the relationship, and he’s taken by her wisdom, strength of character, and inner beauty.

Months have passed since the first risky adventure, and having learned that she has never camped out in a tent, he presents a camping date. To date, by design, this couple has not engaged in sexual intimacy.She accepts his camping offer. The day has arrived, and they first hike out to where they first met, on the narrow precipitous ridge trails of Turners Hall Wood, but finding the site unsuitable for their camping experience, they revisited Chalky Mount.
On a location, higher than their first visit, this time at a height of 547 feet above sea level, of sandstone and clays they set up camp.The night scenes were storybook romantic, as the moon was in all its glory, beaming a luminous path on the ocean’s surface, accompanied by a clear, clean sky. The camping experience, proved to be wholesome, and like their first Mount date, positively memorable.Camp Rock they have dubbed their campsite, a site full of romantic memories, in a cozy tent, away from it all, with a beautiful moon in attendance.This is a true story, and this couple is now husband and wife. Upon Reaching the Highest Point, He Fell. . .
It was a Sunday afternoon, on the hike trails of Turner's Hall Wood, the last fifty plus acres of the most well preserved forests. The Wood represents the most plant species rich forest on Barbados, and the terrain is steep, clay and sand stone hills with narrow footpaths along the ridges' knife edges.
There was a group of regular hikers numbering approximately fifty strong, and he was among them, fit and able.
He was in fine form, and this was his favorite hiking trail, rugged, challenging, with a hint of danger, especially since conditions were slightly wet, this Sunday.He carried with him, however a nagging discomfort, loneliness, a longing for a life partner, but not just any female partner.
He knew that she must be righteous, must love and desire to live like Christ, and be an outdoors person. She must be clear about who she is, and be comfortable with herself.
So, naturally, he was on the lookout for such a lady, but was not being anxious about his quest. The group was in a steep climb up to the narrow ridge trail, with rope assistance, and as usual, he was helping hikers who were experiencing some difficulty ascending.
There was this one lady who after being helped up to the top, inquired of his name. This he found to be unusual, since no one over the years, had ever asked his name after offering the customary assistance, so his curiosity was awakened.
This innocently simple act prompted him to observe her. As the hike continued, and at one stage when a small group was far ahead of the main group, there was even greater opportunity to study the lady. Of course, she and four others were in this small group,and from a respectable distance he began to "see" her as God revealed to him the essence of this Godly woman.
By the time the hike was on the move again, he had firmly concluded, that keeping very close to her was now his priority, which he smoothly engineered.
At all the very challenging sections he was there to guide and assist her safely. She was very appreciative of his help, and he did his very best to ensure that they kept in touch.
